Two months forever home

Dear Yeabsira Grace

Today marks the two month forever home mark.   The 23rd is so special to us because it was the date of your homecoming and the day you changed our lives forever (referral day 12-23-11).  

We have made the decision that we love your Ethiopian name so much we are having a hard time switching to Grace.  We will keep the Grace but make that your middle name.  As you get older you can decide which you want to introduce yourself as but for now we love to see your smiling face when we say Yeabsira.    

Our lives have changed so much in the last two months.  Ways I could not imagine.  Our house now closely resembles a toy store.  The furniture has been rearranged so you have a runway for your crawling and pulling up adventures.  Meals are more organized and planned out.  We are both learning how to multi task and learned how to do things with one arm.  The best part of all the change is instead of looking at a picture of your beautiful face we get to see you right here in the living room finding your newest mischief to get into!!

 We had professional pictures taken by mommy's college friend Meryl Johnson. They are beautiful and you were so great!!  Ten years ago Meryl and I were helping seniors move in to Le Moyne ( great school -- no pressure)!!  I can't wait to see what happens in the next ten years!!

 You looked beautiful in all your pictures and make us smile every day.  We love your smile as well!!  You have such a great giggle.  Lucky for us, you find us hysterical.

 You have recently pull up on EVERYTHING.  If it holds still you want to get as high as you can.  This includes your mommy and daddy.  You are so strong and fearless.

 You love to see new things, you get very excited when we walk into a store.  Wegmans is your favorite.  Anything you see that you can touch you instantly put in your mouth.

We love all your funny faces!!  

We love you!!

Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives!!  We love you!!

Eight Months Old

Dear Yeabsira Grace

You are eight months old today!! We went to the doctor a couple days ago and you are up to 15 lbs and 13 oz.  Go girl almost a full pound since you have been home.  You have grown and changed so much in this last month.
You love to eat -- your favorites are avocado, mango, yogurt, potatoes and your favorite is Cheerios!!
You are in constant motion.  You have the arm crawl down and you pull up on everything in your reach.  We have moved your crib down to keep you from doing middle of the night escapes.  Speaking of middle of the night we don't meet then any more you.  You are such a great sleeper.  A perfect 12 hours every night!!

We love to see your smile.  You get so excited when mommy and daddy walk in the room.  You have brought so much joy to our lives!
We are so lucky we get to be your mommy and daddy!!

One Month Home

Dear Grace Yeabsira

We have been home a month and what a month it has been!
You are the cutest and sweetest baby!  I really have to pinch myself.  I just can't believe that you are finally home and that we are so lucky to get to be your parents!

You have done so much in this first month!

You have had so many visitors (  I did not get all of your guests pictures but I am sure we will visit with them soon and this time I will remember to take pictures)

We went to Oneonta to see Grandma Bowen

Then of course had to go to Brooks'

You now play in the swimming pool.

You are a very happy baby, you love to giggle, and give lots of kisses!

You now have a routine and you now enjoy taking naps.  At night you take a bath and then we have a bottle and read your favorite book and then you fall asleep all on your own.  A huge change from when we first became a family of three!

You have gone to lots of graduation parties and are most likey the only kid that gets presents at other peoples parties!

We have spent lots of time exploring the house as you are an excellent army crawler and love to move!

You have started solid foods and have gotten much better at not wearing the entire meal.

Sweet potatoes are your favorite!

You went to Rudy's and loved it (to be honest you only got to enjoy the view but still loved it)

You have been to starbucks just a couple times.

You celebrated the fourth with mommy, daddy, mimzy and grandpa.

 

You went to the doctors and you did so good with all your shots and blood work!  All of which has come back all clear!!

Your social security card came! ( You were not please I would not let you eat it)

We are so lucky you are our daughter.  We love every moment with you even our 3am parties!!
We are so happy you are home!

 Our baby girl is seven months old today!!
